Excel error when connecting to MDX for Kylin data model

Not so long ago our company started to master the new Apache technology stack. After several successful projects we want to share our development experience and some features.

Analytical systems are rapidly evolving, but the role of a tool like Excel remains unchanged. That is why the task of connecting data from Apache Kylin to Excel is quite acute. MDX for Kylin extends the capabilities of Kylin, allows you to create and use data sets for analysis in Excel.

The algorithm of connection to the data source from Excel is presented in Figure 1, the properties of the created connection are shown in Figure 2. After the connection was updated, the error shown in Figure 3 appeared. It also appeared each time the source metadata was changed on the MDX for Kylin server.

The solution to the problem was the mandatory use of the connection file (Figure 4).
